Hanging out in Sydney – all for a great cause
Media Release , Hills Lifestyle and Sustainability
Hills clotheslines took centre-stage in the heart of Australia’s biggest city in October during a very pink event, designed to raise awareness around, and funds for, Cancer Council’s breast cancer research, prevention and support services.
Busy Martin Place in Sydney’s CBD was the focus for two of our Portable 170 clotheslines featuring prominently in a Pink Ribbon Day publicity display.
Adorning the clotheslines were an array of pink bras aimed at attracting public attention for the Council’s breast cancer awareness program.
The display was positioned under a 4m x 2m iconic ‘pink ribbon’ logo shaped balloon display on centre stage. Also on Martin Place was an information tent providing the public with a range of facts about breast cancer, and information on the services provided by Cancer Council NSW to support cancer patients and their families.
Pedestrians could also purchase pink ribbons and a variety of Pink Ribbon Day merchandise items.
The Martin Place event was the focus point in NSW for the state’s Pink Ribbon Day, which is held in October, as a part of international breast cancer awareness month.
Fifty-five sites were set up in metropolitan and Greater Western Sydney raising in excess of $265,000. Nationally, Cancer Council’s Pink Ribbon Day raised more than $2 million for breast cancer awareness.
Hills is extremely proud to have worked with Cancer Council NSW to help educate people on the risks of breast cancer and raise vital funds for breast cancer research, prevention and support services.
