Hills shareholders approve name change
Shareholders vote "YES" to Hills Holdings Limited
Press Release , Corporate
Shareholders in Hills Industries Limited (ASX: “HIL”) today overwhelmingly approved a name change to Hills Holdings Limited to better reflect the diversity of the Company’s operations that has evolved over the years.
Shareholders voted on the name change at Hills’ annual general meeting in Adelaide today.
“Hills Holdings more accurately reflects the diverse range of businesses under the Hills group umbrella, including market-leading interests in businesses that are not industrial,” the Company’s Managing Director, Mr Graham Twartz, said after today’s AGM.
“Many people think we just make hoists, some people know we are diverse but are not sure what we have diversified into. Yet we are a strong, positive company with around $1.2 billion in turnover and some 3,000 employees,” Mr Twartz said.
“The new name is a significant and positive change for Hills. It will ensure that all markets relevant to our business – including our shareholders - see the diversity of Hills rather than think of us as the company that manufactures the hoist,” he said.
“It is not a matter of throwing away our history – far from it. It is simply a name that has more relevance to our key stakeholders and the marketplace generally, while at the same time maintaining the Hills heritage.
“Within Hills, we know that we have a lot of great products and great people. We are now sending that message externally and showing a company that truly reflects who we are and what we do,” he said.
As well as the name change, the parent company has adopted a new logo which will flow through to various Hills’ business units and where appropriate will be used as part of their own separate identities.
The name change to Hills Holdings Limited is being accompanied by a full marketing campaign and a new corporate web site to be unveiled next week.
